Rihanna: Androgynous in Armani

Rihanna's gone all androgynous on us in her latest shoot for Armani Jeans.
The pictures from the company's latest campaign feature Rihanna rocking a biker-chic lycra jeans and wool ensemble topped with balck leather boots, posing provocatively before a sleek black motor.
What's even more striking is the new bleach blond crop - very Agyness Deyn!

Kate Moss marries in Galliano

Kate Moss looked stunning when she wed her fiancee Jamie Hince on the 1st of July 2011. True to her word, the supermodel donned a gown by british designer John Galliano on her big day, despite his controversy at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. As a result he was fired as head designer from Christian Dior.

The 20s-inspired dress featured fitted bodice panels which flowed into an ever-so-slightly risque sheer skirt that showed a glimpse of those million dollar legs! Her hair was styled in relaxed waves by leading hairdresser Sam McKnight and her look was kept natural by make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury. All in all, a relatively casual affair, with new husband Jamie looking dapper but informal in a grey-blue suit and dark boots.

Royal Wedding: Fashion Forward - Victoria Beckham

It's safe to say that Victoria Beckham and husband David stole the show as they arrived at the wedding of the year last friday.
However, heavily pregnant Victoria has caused controversy with her outfit, some criticising her for "looking like she was going to a funeral".
I however, happen to think that her outfit, consisting of a navy blue maternity dress from her own line, LouBoutin heels and a Philip Treacy hat, was possibly the most stylish there.
She was definitely the best dress, second to the bride, Kate of course!

Pirates of the Caribbean: 5th and 6th films?!

Pirates Of The Caribbean fans will be pleased to know that a 5th and possibly 6th film is already being lined up!
Originally, fans were told that the third film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, would be the last – however the cast are already making their returns to our screens in the 4th film, “On Stranger Tides” this May!
It is reported that Terry Rossio will write the script for the fifth movie, and Johnny Depp has already said that "as long as [they] can put all the puzzle pieces together, [he] would most definitely consider it".
I'm a huge fan, and am so pleased that the movies are continuing!

Kate Middleton's Make Up Lessons!

It is reported that prior to her big day, future queen Kate Middleton took make-up lessons from an artist, so that she could do her own make-up on the day!
Arabella Preston, the lady chosen for the job, is a mum-of-two London based make up artist. It is reported that Kate had three or four lessons, to help her pull off the most important look of her life!
Was this a risky move for the new Princess?

Kate Middleton's Wedding Hair

On her wedding day, future queen Kate Middleton opted for a half-up half-down look featuring loose curls.
reported that her only request of stylist Riachard Ward on the big day was that 'William must recognise me by the time I get to the altar'; it's clear she wanted to stick to a natural look.

I think her hair was a great success - it framed her face beautifully and I think the way she had it pulled back from her face made a nice change from her usual side parting!

I'm Walking on Sunshine!

I finally got me some wedges! I thought I’d show them to you, as after my Jumpsuit OOTN some of you asked to see the wedges.
So I got these on Wednesday from Primark for just £18! (That’s about $29.50) I had been searching all day, and not really seeing anything I liked – plus, all other pairs were at least £30!
I thought I’d check Primark just in case, and there, as if singing my name from the shelf, were these babies! They also had them in a very dark brown leather and wedge, but I thought I’d go for tan. Really pleased with them – hope this has inspired you!
P.S. Don’t be put off by the height; they are sooo comfortable to walk in!

OOTN: Jumpsuits Dressed Up!

This is the smart casual outfit I wore the other day for a night in with the girls.

I think jumpsuits look their best paired with heeled wedges/clogs
- I got mine from Primark on Wednesday for just £18 ($29.50)!!!

This is a strapless black jumpsuit from New Look I bought a while back for about £25                   - the body is tight but the legs flare out at the waist like hareem pants.
I just threw this leather jacket on from Primark, and accessorised with beads from New Look,
a snake bangle from Primark and my usual gold Swatch watch.

Must Have Trend: Mid-Calf Dress

S/S 2011's hottest trend; the mid length dress! From Prada to Dior, each designer has their own take. However, they are now available on the High Street,
and I'm here to show you where I got mine!

So I picked this up on Monday in Primark - I can't tell you how chuffed I was! It was just £11 ($18) - and feels really good quality. It's a jersey material, featuring blue and white stripes (nautical is bang-on-trend!) and each comes with a plaited faux-leather belt.
I'm usually a UK 16, but what with the bagginess above the elasticated waist and all,
a 14 fits me fine. This will be perfect on holiday, paired with gold or brown sandals or wedges!

Just goes to show, high-street can definately match high end!
Where did you get your mid-calf dress?

Review: Simple Eye MakeUp Corrector Pen

At first glance, it's the product we've all been waiting for, right? A precise little tool to niftily correct any mistakes with mascara, eyeliner, even eye shadow!
However, when it's put into practise; not so good.
I think this would be a brilliant little product if only you could clean it properly! Simple recommend you use their facial wipes to cleanse and rub off the black marks (of course, you can use any wipes), but it never seems to do the job and I'm left with a big grubby felt tip that now doesn't work as well.

PS. The felt tip nib is double ended, so you can flip it round when one end is unusable.
Advantages: brilliant idea
Disadvantages: hard to clean, dries out/ nib gets fluffy
I would not recommend this to a friend.

Style Snippet: Hilary Rhoda

I have red-carpet envy! Model Hilary Rhoda, who in the past has starred in many high end campaigns, including Estee Lauder, always looks stunning on the red carpet!
In picture #1 she is wearing Naeem Khan, #2 she is wearing Jacques Fath, #3 she's in Emilio Pucci, and in picture 6 she is wearing Calvin Klein.
I'm not sure of picture 4 & 5, but I'd say those dresses were my favourite!
Which of Hilary Rhoda's looks do you like most?

Lusian Lopilato's Wedding Dress

For her religious ceremony to new husband Michael Bublé, Argentinean model Lusiana Lopilato donned a more traditional dress than the short lilac one that she wore to the civil service.
The gorgeous white gown featured a tight satin bodice that flowed into beautiful lace tiers. To me, the dress looks like it has a lot of Latino influences – not surprising, seeing as Lopilato was born in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires.
Stunning Lusiana wore her hair up, contrasting the more casual feel of the civil ceremony. After the ceremony, she and Michael played around with the fans outside, posing for photographs.
I think she looked beautiful!

Michael Bublé: Wedding Number Two!

Swing singer Michael Bublé married his fiancée on Saturday – for the second time!
He, aged 36, and Argentinean model Lusiana Lopilato, 23, held their first civil service ceremony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Thursday, and followed with a lavish religious ceremony in Lopilato’s home country’s capital just 48 hours later.
Contrasting with their previous ceremony, the bride wore a more traditional tiered white dress, which had a Latin feel.
This was the 2nd of three ceremonies; the last will be held in Vancouver, Canada – Michael’s hometown.

Hit or Miss? Mrs Bublé's Wedding Dress

Argentian model Lusiana Lopilato picked an unusual choice for her wedding to Michael Bublé; this short pleated lilac number!
The dress, which finished just above her knee, featured a crystal encrusted shear neckline that plunged down into a sexy V. She paired it with shiny silver peep-toe platform heels and held a pink orchid bouquet that harmonised beautifully with the lilac on her dress, and wore her hair down.
Although and unusual choice for a wedding, this was a civil partnership ceremony in Argentina, so was more than likely chosen for practical purposes - as well as for looking stunning!
Never the less, she looks stunning! The whole combination really works.
This was the first of 3 wedding ceremonies for Lusiana Lopilato and new superstar hubby Michael Bublé; can't wait to see what she wears for the other two!!

FLOWE(RED); "The Most Thoughtful Flowers You Will Ever Buy"

Stuck for ideas for mother's day?
An estimated 22.5 million people are living with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa.

When you buy these flowers by FLOWE(RED) (a scheme set up by the RED™ charity that has teamed up with many iconic brands such as Nike, Starbucks and Emporio Armani) all profits of sales go to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in the continent.
Not only this, but many of the flowers are ethically soruced from Africa - giving the people that this charity helps a way of making a living too.

This is a brilliant idea for helping those living with AIDS in less developed countries such as Africa - I think schemes like this could make a difference around the whole world.
What do you think?

Adele matches Madonna's record!

Adele has been breaking records this week with her latest album "21". It has spent nine weeks at the top of the album charts; the longest ever for a female solo artist, on a par with Madonna's "The Immaculate Collection" (1990).

Adele's first album, "19" is also at number 2 in the charts and her single "Someone Like You" is still Number 1, and she also has two other singles in the Top 40!

It's smiles all round for the British singer/songwriter!

Michael Bublé Married!

It pains me to say, ladies, that heartthrob Michael Bublé, 36, has officially tied the knot with 23-year-old Argentinean model Lusiana Lopilato!
The couple married in a civil ceremony on the 31st March 2011 in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. Lusiana wore a short lilac dress and held a beautiful pink orchid posy.
However, this is just the first of three weddings for the couple – there is another ceremony to be held in Argentina, and the pair will also celebrate in Vancouver, Canada – Michael’s hometown.
Apparently, Lusiana has told Michael he's not allowed to sing at their many weddings; I'm sure he'll find a way round this?! :) x

LA Candy Book Review

This was the first novel from mega reality star Lauren Conrad, and is loosely based on her experiences whilst filming hit TV shows “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills”.
Although not the most literary amazing book, the plot it very catchy, and you feel that Lauren is being as sincere as she can in a novel.
In my opinion, if you want a funny girly book (but not shallow) for light reading, you’ll love this novel! If you have no interest in The Hills, this book probably isn’t for you.
I can’t wait to read the sequels!
What do you think of Lauren Conrad’s books? X

Jessie J - "Who You Are" - Album Review

I recently got Jessie J’s long awaited debut album “Who You Are”. Although I liked her released singles “Price Tag” and “Do It like a Dude”, I didn’t expect the whole album to be as good.
This album, however, has far outshone my expectations – it’s the best all-round album I’ve heard in a long time (since “I am...” and “The Fame”)!! Every song is catchy!
Although at times cheesy, this is a real good album – I don’t think people know just how incredible Jessie J’s vocals are; her range and techniques are top class!

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb: Rave/Review

I cannot tell you how much I am IN LOVE with this perfume....it's the perfect scent for me
It's very sweet, but kind of sugary spicily sweet instead of sickly. Although it's called flowerbomb, to me, it doesn't seem to floral, and I'm not a fan of floral scents.
The packaging and bottle are SO pretty and look great on a dressing table.

However, it seems gorgeousness does come at a cost.
This is pricier than most high-end perfumes avaiblable: at the moment it is retailing for £61 for 50ml and £81.50 for 100ml (at John Lewis).

Bargain Beauty - 17 Blusher in "China Pink"

Firstly, apologies for the poor quality of the pictures! I was resigned to using my camera-phone that won't focus properly as I can't find my camera charger! Not very good for my first swatch post, I know!
However, they are colour-accurate!

I have been meaning to get a new blusher for ages, and I really loved this when I saw it! It is the “17 Blush Powder”, available exclusively from Boots, in the colour “China Pink”.

It is the most gorgeous colour – just the right balance of peach, pink and reddish tones – not too light and not too dark! Plus it’s really pigmented!

At just £3.49, and in a range of colours, these blushers are a steal!

Pregnant Pixiwoo!!

Nic (left) and Sam Chapman - Pixiwoo
Those of you who follow famous internet sensation duo "Pixiwoo" may be interested to hear that Nic is pregnant!
Today, Nicola Chapman and her sister Samantha (who has 2 daughters of her own) revealed in a youtube video that 30 year old Nic is 12 weeks pregnant.
They said they've been reluctant to share the news as Nic has "had two miscarridges in the past".
Nicola, who is getting married to partner Ian just 4 months after the baby is due, said she and Ian "got so emotional" and cannot wait for the birth of her baby.
Congratulations!!

Gwen Stefani's Covershoot for ELLE

Gwen Stefani for ELLE

This is the subscriber's cover of the April 2011 Elle cover, starring Gwen Stefani. It's simple, but oh-so beautiful! Gwen looks positively glowing!
In this interview 41-year-old Stefani talks (not to any old interviewer, but to a close girlfriend from the music industry) about balancing her career with her family life, her body, and those emotional reunion gigs with her old band No Doubt, from which she had a long term relationship with (now ex) partner, Tony Kanal.
This cover definitely ranks as one of my faves - the use of colour is particularly clever, and besides, Gwen looks amazing in this shoot!
Have you seen this ELLE? What did you think of the interview?

Review: NEW Chanel "Vitalumiere Aqua"

My first thoughts after using this foundation for the first time were "OH MY GOSH, I love it!!"
At first, after seeing many people wearing the normal "Vitalumiere" (Keep checking up for my Vitalumiere vs Vitalumiere Aqua post) I thought that this wouldn't set and would just slide off my skin within a couple of hours (I have combination skin).

However, I was pleasantly surprised - after setting it with my normal pressed powder, I was pleased to see how nicely matte it looked - and it lasted all day too, a whopping 9 hours before I wiped it off, and it was the most product I had ever seen left on the wipe, too!

The only downside is that being a high end product I have a feeling (as far as I have researched) that it will retail for around £31 which is quite pricey for a foundation - however, it has to be the best quality one I have used.

I used Beige 20, which I'm pretty sure will be perfect for most white skin tones as I received a magazine sample - It was the PERFECT colour for me!
As far as breakouts are concerned, it wasn't TOO bad, however that's because I am very acne prone - It will DEFINITELY be fine on all normal skins.

My advice is: Don't be put off by the "Aqua" - I think it is designed more for oily skins, or for pople who need medium coverage without feeling like that are wearing to much makeup.
ps. The packaging looks gorgeous. It's in a classy plastic bottle with black cap - slightly different to the other " Lumiere " foundations in their range.

Book Review: Beauty Rules by Bobbi Brown

I bought this for my friend's 15th birthday as she has previously had other Bobbi Brown books, and after having flicked through it, I am in two minds.I have to say, although it's a nicely presented book, the information is very basic, much like the earlier Bobbi Brown book. I know it is aimed at Teens, but it is also marketed for those in their twenties.
It's not so much the content, more the way the information is written - it can be very patronising at times.

However, it is a lovely book. It is huge and contains alot of information. It also has a section for mothers, and also a section on "real-life" prom make up case studies, which I think is quite cute.
As it is such a large book, I'm sure if i'd read it from page to page i'd be able to give you a MUCH more detailed review. But of course it's a gift.
I am considering buying it for myself as I am intrigued by little things I've seen (one particular picture where there is some gastly green and white eyeshadow left unblended, and Bobbi says "she still looks good).
P.S. there is a foreword by Hilary Duff - in case that makes a difference to some people.

It all depends on the person really - in terms of layout and presentation and amount of info 10/10.
In terms of the quality of information, no more than 6/10.

Can't Wait To Get My Hands On: Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

I first saw this advertised in ELLE a couple of weeks ago - and I thought, WHY HAS NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE??! Not because it's amazingly innovative - rather the sheer simplicity of it! Isn't this what us mascara addicts have been waiting for all our lives?
It's not, is it? - that's because no one has thought of it.But again, why? Is it because it is deemed too gimmicky? Is it because a normal mascara has been serving us fine all these years? Or so we think?

Well now it's time to find out, with Clinique's brand new Bottom Lash Mascara (Original name, I know - but sometimes less is more. However, when it comes to APPLYING mascara - more, is to be quite frank, always more!). The teeny tiny applicator "is engineered for precision control, and a smudge resistant formula."

From the reviews I've people seem to be loving it - so, is this the new way forward for mascara?! Tell me what you think - will you be buying this, or is it just a waste of space and money?!
Clinique Bottom Lash will retail for £10 for 2ml.

HAIR: Cher Lloyd vs Rihanna

Everybody, Cher Lloyd has a new do! And it's surprisingly similar to the hair Rihanna was sporting a while back, except Cher has gone for RiRi's current colour; bright red!
Who do you think the hair suits better??
Personally, I do like this look on Cher - but for me Rihanna was always the queen of the curly, quiffy crop.
I think Cher's long hair really suited her!!

Chantecaille Sea Turtle Palette - Saving the turtles...with eyeshadow?!

Listen up charitable beauty lovers! Now you can do something good for nature, at the same time as indulging yourself in a gorgeous new eyeshadow palette - This is all thanks to the brand new creation by Chantecaille, the hot-off-the-press Sea Turtle Palette. It features three gorgeous eye colours and a pretty blush tone. The colours are almost to pretty to use - however, at a hefty £73, you might just want to use it sparingly! Fear not though - you can sleep at night knowing 5% of your hard-earned cash goes towards sea turtle charity "Widecast".
If you ask me, that's £73 well spent!
What do you think? x
